Odisha LoP and BJD President Naveen Patnaik has written to Union Minister J.P. Nadda, urging immediate steps to ensure adequate urea supply to Odisha amid fertiliser scarcity during the ongoing Kharif season.

Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has written to Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers J.P. Nadda highlighting the issue of fertiliser scarcity in the State during the ongoing Kharif season.In his letter, Patnaik urged the Union Minister to take immediate steps to ensure an adequate supply of urea fertilisers to Odisha, citing the hardships faced by the farming community.He stressed that timely availability of fertilisers is crucial for agricultural productivity and appealed to the Centre to intervene in the interest of lakhs of farmers across the State.Agricultural experts believe that the intervention of the Union Government will be significant in preventing a possible agrarian crisis during the ongoing cultivation season.
