After a prolonged wait of six years, the famous Gundicha Temple in Puri, closed since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, is set to reopen its doors to devotees on Wednesday in Odisha. The decision has been taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration after the completion of various development and improvement works inside the temple premises.
The reopening will allow devotees to visit the historic temple and offer prayers following the completion of the work. Before taking the final decision, the temple authorities carried out an inspection of the premises and reviewed the arrangements made for devotees.
Rs 10 Entry Fee for Devotees
According to the decision of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, devotees visiting the Gundicha Temple will have to pay an entry fee of Rs 10. However, the administration has decided to keep entry free for senior citizens and children coming for darshan.
