Eight Lok Sabha MPs Suspended for Remainder of Session Under Rule 374

New Delhi, February 3:The Lok Sabha Secretariat on Tuesday issued a circular announcing the suspension of eight Members of Parliament from the service of the House for the remainder of the ongoing session under Rule 374 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha.

The suspended MPs are Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Advocate Dean Kuriakose, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, B. Manickam Tagore, Dr. Prashant Yadaorao Padole, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, and S. Venkatesan.

According to the circular, the suspension was carried out following a motion moved by the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, which was adopted by the House on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

As per Rule 374, the suspended members will not be allowed to enter the Lok Sabha Chamber, lobby, or galleries during the suspension period. They will also remain barred from attending meetings of parliamentary committees of which they are members.

The circular further states that no business items will be listed in their names, and any notices submitted by them will not be accepted during the suspension period. The MPs will also be ineligible to vote in elections to parliamentary committees held during this time.

In addition, the suspended members will not be entitled to receive daily allowance for the duration of their suspension, as their stay at the place of duty will not be considered “residence on duty” under the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954.

The circular has been issued for information to all officers and branches of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
