Ayodhya. In a significant development linked to the ongoing controversy surrounding remarks by a Shankaracharya, GST Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Singh has resigned from his post in Ayodhya. He has submitted a two-page resignation letter to the Governor, citing personal and ideological reasons.In his statement, Prashant Kumar Singh said that he resigned in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He alleged that the Shankaracharya made indecent remarks against CM Yogi, which deeply hurt him.“I am a supporter of the state whose salt I eat and from where I receive my salary.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a democratically elected leader, and I cannot tolerate his insult,” Singh stated. He added that he had been mentally disturbed for the past three days due to the issue.Singh further said that once his resignation is accepted, he plans to dedicate himself to social work using his own resources.

After sending his resignation, Prashant Kumar Singh reportedly called his wife and became emotional during the conversation. He broke down while telling her that he had resigned in support of CM Yogi.

The resignation has triggered discussions in administrative and political circles, with reactions awaited from the state government.
