₹5 Crore Seized, Counting Still Underway — DIG Punjab Police Arrested by CBI
Chandigarh: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Police after the recovery of approximately ₹5 crore in cash from his residence.According to CBI sources, the counting of the seized currency is still underway, and the total amount could rise as investigators continue evaluating other properties and assets linked to the officer.The CBI conducted multiple searches at various locations associated with the officer following allegations of bribery, misuse of official position, and possession of disproportionate assets. Officials stated that other movable and immovable assets are yet to be assessed.
