TPSODL has reinforced its infrastructure, maintenance protocols, and emergency response strategies to mitigate potential power disruptions and enhance consumer service reliability during the upcoming summers.To enhance network reliability, TPSODL has focused on extensive preventive maintenance activities across its power distribution infrastructure. A structured plan has been put in place for transformers and feeders, ensuring the smooth functioning of the 33kV and 11kV systems. Maintenance teams have been deployed across various regions to address potential faults before they escalate into major disruptions. More than 200 night breakdown teams have also been formed to provide round-the-clock support for fault rectifications, ensuring quick response times and minimal downtime for consumers. In addition, the company has assigned more than 250 dedicated personnel to maintain the 33kV network, reinforcing its commitment to delivering seamless power transmission across Southern Odisha.To support these efforts, TPSODL has strengthened its workforce with over 5,900 field personnel strategically deployed across six circles to ensure efficient operations and rapid response. The maintenance teams, are equipped with vehicles and necessary tools, have been stationed in various locations to ensure that any faults or service interruptions are attended to with urgency. A well-structured team of engineers and supervisors is overseeing planning and execution, ensuring the timely completion of maintenance tasks and the swift restoration of power in case of any contingencies. Additionally, a dedicated team has been deployed at the divisional level to supervise the operational efficiency of power substations and feeder lines. More than 200 night breakdown teams have also been formed to provide round-the-clock support for fault rectifications, ensuring quick response and minimal downtime for consumers.The Power System Control Center (PSCC) in Berhampur plays a critical role in real-time monitoring and management of power distribution across the region. Operating 24×7, the PSCC is equipped with SCADA-based remote monitoring for 158 substations, enabling TPSODL to detect and resolve faults swiftly. Round-the-clock power backup arrangements at the Central Control Room and PSCC will ensure seamless operations even during extreme weather conditions. In addition, decentralized Area Power System Control Centers (APSCCs) at Jeypore, Rayagada, Phulbani, and Bhanjanagar ensure seamless coordination of 11kV feeder operations, enhancing response times during outages. A dedicated 33kV operations desk further strengthens power reliability by enabling faster restoration of services, particularly during extreme weather conditions such as Kalbaisakhi. To maintain seamless coordination during emergency situations, key personnel – CEO, PSCC officials, and Circle Heads, have been provided with satellite phones, guaranteeing uninterrupted communication even in the most challenging conditions. TPSODL continues to prioritize customer service by enhancing consumer engagement and ensuring transparency in power supply management. As part of this initiative, SMS-based outage alerts have been introduced across six operational circles, keeping consumers informed about any planned or unexpected disruptions. The company has also appointed Feeder Champions who are responsible for monitoring and maintaining critical 33kV and 11kV feeders before and after the Kalbaishakhi , ensuring that any potential issues are swiftly addressed.”With rising temperatures and increasing power demand, TPSODL is committed to delivering reliable and uninterrupted supply to consumers.
