Payal Pattanaik from Odisha made India proud by winning one gold and one bronze medal at the International Wing Chun Championship 2024, held in Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China, from December 12-16.
As a testament to her outstanding achievement, Payal was felicitated by Hon’ble Sports Minister Suraj Suryavanshi at his office, accompanied by Team India Coach Pradyumna Behera and Grandmaster Er. S S Harichandan, Chairman of Wushu Association of Orissa.
Payal’s impressive performance is a continuation of her successful streak, having previously won a bronze medal in the junior girls’ traditional wing chun style at the 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship in August 2023 .
